Triggering Customer Characteristics Through Idoc

Is there any standard way to trigger customer characteristics values through inbound ORDERS idoc?

The idoc is carrying the customer number so the default characteristics values are triggered. Requirement is to to trigger a different value.

If you're talking about VC then Google -> VC ORDERS IDoc site:sap.com

Not sure what "customer characteristics values" have to do with the sales orders. They're part of the customer master data, why would they be different for a sales order?

We have a customer master which does not have any characteristics value. But for a certain process, when a sales order is created, business wanted this customer to appear with a characteristics value.

But as this is a generic customer used by other processes as well, I really cant change the master data itself. Hence I was wondering if there is any way to load the characteristics value of a customer, while loading the order through the ORDERS idoc. If that was possible, I did not had to change the master data, but I would be able to load an order with customer characteristics value.

But it seems that is not possible.
