Process v Production order

I have a client who is asking for a recommendation to switch from process orders to production orders and provide pros and cons.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi Pamela

The process and production orders is not different from accounting / controlling angle. It has distinct features from PP angle. Some of the following features are

1. Production: Rounting / Workcenter / Trigger points etc.,

2. Process : Recipe / Resource / PI Sheets

The above are industry specific like process is suitable for Pharma, Chemical, Fertilizer etc., whereas Production is for Automobile, Steel etc.,

You can always shift from process to production before that you see whether the features you might be using in Process may not be available in Production.
