GATP in SCM 5.0

Gurus,

I work as an APO GATP consultant and would like to know whether the following is available in SCM 5.0

1. Customer wants to group all the items in a sales order for a single source plant after a Rules based ATP check. This is a sales order optimization issue so that a single source plant cant be selected for all the items.

2. When making a decission on single plant sourcing like above, how do we take care of the cost factors and lead time . The cost factors are transportation costs which vary from plant to plant.

3.Can a Multi-level ATP be used without PPDS. Customer wants to check BOM items only fo inventory.

4. How do I hard allocate a batch in a sales order (batch managed material) so that other orders should not pick the batch during back order re-scheduling

I appreciate all your inputs.

regards.

shan

    Hi Shan,

I will answer the first 2 questions.

    1. Yes this is possible. All you need to do is create rules with Location determination so that same plant is determined for all the line items. Then configure the rule determination based upon some independent entity (Sold-to-party) for example.

    2. The lead time will be taken care of by the Scheduling information that you will need to maintain. That is you will have to create condition records which give the lead times for each plant. They will be automatically picked up when a sales order is created. The costs will also be taken care of by the TP/VS module. When you create plants , create lanes, maintain the costs needed.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Ankur

      Hi Ankur,

      1. Can I use different units of measure on planning book? Because when u configure planning area, it accepts only one UOM. But if the user wants to put different UOM on planning book, how he will do it?

      2. I want to consume product allocation fully w/o giving partial confirmation. For eg: if I have 50 availavle in this week on each of the day , and if I order 100, I should not get any confirmation in this week. I should look for 100.

      regards,

      shan
