SAP LaMa 3.0 Landscape preparation requirement

Hi all,

We are in process of implementing SAP LaMa 3.0 on Unix in our Landscape.

While going through some documents for LaMa setup, I came through few below tasks and have questions on it -

1) Installation of component SAP ADAPTIVE EXTENSION with Host Agent on connecting systems.

Question - What is the use of this component and what additional details it provide to LaMa for administration.

2) Contact your SAP technology partner representative to get the sapacosprep partner libraries for your specific storage integration.

Question - Why we need these libraries and what type of new storage integration we need.

3) Set up all application-instance-relevant data on a central storage system.

Question -> Does it mean we need to mount all SAP Application related file systems on all connected system under a common NAS/NFS mount point?

4) Manage operating-system-related settings such as users, groups, instances, and host names using a central management tool, for example, NIS (Network Information System) or LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol).

Question - We don;t have LDAP for login at OS level and not sure how hostnames/instances can be named or created through central management tool, Please suggest what we need to do under this task?

5) Install the application instances on virtual host names.

Question -> We have most of the landscape instance running currently on physical host, Does this task mean that we have to create virtual names and setup all our instances under virtual host names?

Please provide your input on above queries.

    Hi Shovam,

I suggest you take a first look here:

For example, it offers a 30 days trial version of LaMa which might clarify some of your questions.

Few notes are mentioned in there too.

If you still have questions, please update here.

    Kind regards,
