Archiving PM Orders - Problem in Customizing settings

Former Member

Hi All,

I am archiving PM Orders using the archiving object PM_ORDER and I face a situation where I am unable to view the "Application-Specific Customizing" option in my Customizing Screen. As a result neither am I

able to configure the residence times nor am I able to view the option of " Comment for Archiving Session " in the Pre-processing job. We have activated the BC Set ARCH_PM_ORDER according to SAP Note -617008 . Yet this problem prevails.

Any help?

Thanks,

Janani

Hello,

Archiving PM_ORDER is a very manual process. You have to run the "Prepare" job twice - 1st time to set the deletion flag, 2nd time to set the deletion indicator. Then, you can run the write and delete jobs. This is after you have configured the residence time within SPRO as previously mentioned.

Hi Karin,

Thanks for the Information. But in my situation its like this, I am running the PM_ORDER job for Preprocessor & then the Write job with the selection criteria parameter as blank( leaving all fields i.e Order NO, Order type etc blank) even then the job is not selecting any data for archiving.

Also my customization are correct & no problem with that.

So I wanted to know is there any way that I need to make changes to get the data for archiving.

Waiting for your reply.

Hi Pankaj,

What do you have your residence times set for? As you need to wait for the configured residence time 1 (in months) before you run the preprocessing job again to set the deletion indicator. Then, depending on what you have configured for residence time 2, you need to wait that many months before you can run the write job. If you have these 2 times configured as 0 and you are still not getting any data to archive, then you need to check the spool file for the first preprocessing job, that should tell you why the orders are not archiving. And, you can check the status of the pm orders. The status needs to be state that it is closed (CLSD), Deletion flag has been set (DLFL) and the Deletion indicator has been set (DLT), (among all of the other status's ).

Hope this helps.

Hi Janani,

How you're unable to view the info, is it greyout? can you see any authorization error?... Are you logged on with a user that have enough authorization?

Hi Juan,

The customizing settings that we need to complete before the archive process is what i am talking about. There we have an option to set the residence times in the "Application-Specific Customizing" . I am unable to view this option for PMOrder. (though this is not compulsory for all objs, here we need to do some residence time customizing)

Thanks

As far as i know if the application-specific customizing doesn't show as an option is not required for archiving... for PM_Order seems like youn can choose the order number range, order type and plant..

Hello Janani,

for PM_ORDER you have to maintain

- the <b>'Short text for archiving run'</b> in the variant of the <b>WRITE-Job</b>

- the <b>'Residence time'</b> directly in <b>SPRO</b>-customizing:

-- Transaction OIOA (both letter <b>O</b> like in <b>O</b>rders)

-- Plant-Maintanance... -> Maintenance and Service Processing -> Maintenance and Service Orders -> Functions and Settings for Order Types -> Configure Order Types
