Hi Ramesh,

As you mentioned that you have good knowledge on ABAP,I would suggest you to go to XI.

Even If you choose BW also it comes under SAP Netweaver Components only and you can choose any one.

If you have the knowledge of Core java it woud be very easy for XI point of view.

So,based on your prior skill you choose either BW or XI.

Please find the below links for XI Fundamentals

Please let me know if you have any quieries.

Thanks,

Sekhar

If you have confidence in Java, XSL, SOAP, webservices then XI is better option.

But if you are confident only in ABAP, then i would suggest you go into BW.

Because whichever field you wanna work, you should be confident. Both in BW & XI you need to learn a lot but on XI side you may have to have sound knowledge in Java, SOAP, XSL etc.

Now, its upto you to decide which way to go.

Hi Ramesh,

As Lateesh, already said both and equally competent. It solely depends on your own interest. Anyways, please check out these documents on XI.. They are useful to get a first hand view of the technology.

I would suggest this link on SAP help for any info that you want on XI,

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm

Further, this thread deals with everything that is needed for a starter on XI. Do check them out,

/message/527697#527697 [original link is broken]

And after you are done with the documentation probably you can go through this scenario,

Also check the following threads which might help you a little more,

Also for more info related to XI go through these links:

Once you go through these links and are a bit aware what all XI objects do, you can try a simple "File to File Scenario" which would help you to understand XI objects in a much better manner.

For help on this scenario go through this blog it is in two parts thus I am providing both links below:
