WEBI: How to Refresh a WebI Report based on an Excel Sheet in a network share

Former Member

Hi,

I would like to create a report on SAP BO WebI based on an excel file which is located on a network share. As long as I refresh it in the WEBI Richt Client, it works perfectly. But I must be able to refresh it on the BI Launchpad Platform.

Any idea how to do it?

Best regards,¨

Roman

Hi,

You can try as Amit Kumar suggested and another option is:

1. Save the excel to the BI Launchpad

2. Remap the WebI data source to the Excel saved in Bi Launchpad.

3. Refresh the report.

Thanks,

Jothi

Hi Roman,

When the Excel file is based on a shared/network location make sure that you are providing a UNC path.

Eg: \\host-name\share-name\file_path

And obviously check what Amit has suggested.

Regarding saving the Excel file on BI launchpad, this is the recommended way as the Excel is managed. And when making any changes to it you would have to replace the existing file. Check the below link for more info on this :

For this you need to check if user which is used in SIA for to run services has the access from BO server to Network drive?

Check what is the user name in SIA services and then from BO server try to access the network location.Report will work once you will get the access from BO server to Network location.
