How is calculated the HU total volume ?

Hi,

we face with this case.

Some HU are showing Total Volume in MM3 instead of M3, but we are not able to find out where operate to have it in M3.

Here you are an ERQ example.

HU dimensions tab:

The packaging material is defined:

The HU shows packing instructions:

As we want to update the Total volume in M3, we did some updates on the Packing Instructions (POP2) in order to have new HU with Total Volume 0,205 M3.

We have updated the Height, Width, Lenght in M (instead of MM).

Then forced Maintain volumes manually to clear MM3 and the corresponding volume.

Then cleared the flag

and saved. But again find out MM3.

Where to operate to fix ?

    Looking at your package instruction screen on the left I see that you have a unit KG for the packaging, but G for Load and Total.

    Why is this different unit on the left? And had you already tried with KG on the left just to see if that influences the behavior for the volume unit on the right?

    Hi Jurgen,

    thank you for your suggestion.

    Unfortunately it doesn't work:

    1. cleared the mm3 volumes by manual flag;

    2. updated the Load Weight in KG and cleared the Total weight, by manual flag on Weight

    3. Enter gives this result:

    3. unflagged both Volumes and Weight and enter 3 time in order to let SAP complete the setup:

    ..

    Now I'm searching for someting else to fix...

    Which unit of measure is maintained in the material master of the component(s) of the packaging instruction (the "material" component)? Isn't it possible that the MM3 is coming from there?

    As I see, if the "Volume unit (allowed packaging volume)" (MARA-ERVOE) is maintained for the packaging material, it will be used. Otherwise the system uses the unit of measure of the volume of the material component if it is filled (this is not the complete logic but you can investigate your problem based on this).
