Hi
I wanted to automate "Update ODS in Data Target" in a process chain. Created the process chain with the correct variant.
Is there a way to set as a "full update" instead of a delta? I have prior process to delete infocube. Reason is ..in Full Update, it brings across selection criteria which I needed.
thanks.

Just discovered that in production BW, under process chains->infosources, there is a datamart (DM) section, so, I would presumed that this is the one that I needed in the process chains. Unfortunately, the error is the same when I move into the process chains steps.
Error msg:
InfoPackage ZPAK_429ONI1XPBPS6PDGO4FTYQVXU is generated; NOT able to be used as loading variant

Thanks so much... i found it on unassigned node and will transport to production bw.
Question:Anyway to assign to a proper node instead of unassigned section ?
Will award full point once I resolve it.

Hi,
You can drag and drop it to where you want. If you get a message that drag and drop is disabled, go to transaction sm30, put RSADMINSV as table/view, press maintain, you'll get two information messages, press ok in both, then uncheck the Drag & Drop off flag. Save and go again to rsa1 and move the infosource. For security, you'd better, after doing this, check the Drag & Drop flag again.

Hi Diego
You mentioned 2 things which I cannot locate on Infosources.
1. Check in datamart ? Where is the datamart option located ?
2. there is no such infosource named 8NAMEOFYOURODS. i.e i am using my ods technical name and did a find on infosources section, return nothing.

Hi,
when i mentioned datamart, i meant a component application named Datamarts, usually under unassigned nodes.
To get your infosource do as follows:
In rsa1 - infosources, in the tree, right click on the root (InfoSources) and select Insert lost node(s). Then, press the refresh button and look for your infosource named 8NAMEOFYOURODS.

Hi,
You need to create a full load infopackage from the ODS (infosource named 8NAMEOFYOURODS, check in Data Marts).
Then, in process chain, instead of using Update data targets from ods, use this new infopackage.
Hope this helps.

Diego

Created the package and now it throws out this error message.
"InfoPackage ZPAK_429ONI1XPBPS6PDGO4FTYQVXU is generated; NOT able to be used as loading variant"

If you want to make full update a part of process chain you have to create a package for that and include that into Process chain.
Go to you infosources and disable the automatic updates to data target for ODS. then right click on ODS and select update data in targets. It will give a option for full or init load. Choose full load and it will take you to package creation screen. Create a package with all the slection you want and save it.
Now use this package in your process chain after you cube delete step
thanks
