Changing the schedule line category after subsequent documents are created.


We have a scenario where the subsequent documents (Billing document) of sales orders have been created and closed, however these sales orders are still showing in 'Being processed' status.

We have found out that Root cause of this issue, is Delivery relevant flag is activated at schedule line category level although item category is marked for Order relevant billing.

As a solution, we have created a new schedule line category, removed the Delivery relevant flag in newly created schedule line category, after that we have created a new custom program which calls Bapi 'BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE' to replace the existing schedule line category with new schedule line category with correct configuration.

We have also tested this solution and this is working fine.

But the only concern is about its impact on subsequent billing documents.

Could you please suggest whether it is recommended to change the Schedule line of a Sales order even though the subsequent documents (Billing document) are created and closed.

Or else, please suggest any other possible solution for this issue as we want to close these open orders on priority.
