Currently Logged in users in Portal.

Hi All,

Can anyone please explain me how to view the current users logged in a portal. I verified the Portal Activity report iview and it does not give an option to check the Currently Logged in users. Is there any way I could create this iview and can you please explain me the process in detail.

Thanks

Regards

Luke

    Hi Luke,

seems like you need something like this:

Write your own portal usage statistics tool

although, i haven't tried building this tool but i suspect this should get you the ideas you need.

    Hello Luke,

You can see the current logged users from

the Security Provider service in the Visual Administrator tool.

Here you can monitor user logons and user sessions on the J2EE Engine.

      Hi Luke

Unless you have some sort of real time monitoring, you can't really tell who is logged on to the portal. If I log on and close my browser, the portal can't tell this. So, I can see who has logged on, but not much else.

The real time collaboration tools make use of RTMF to see who is actually logged on to the portal and will see if you log off or close your browser.

      Cheers

    hi Mike,

I have KMC installed and I have also included the coll.appl.rtc.rtmf_api.jar.

Can you please provide me more information (steps/code) on the implementaion?

    Thanks,

    Avinash.

If you set your collaloration launch pad up, and you "enable Status", then you end up sending a "here I am" yo the RTMF environment. This can be viewed through the use of "Contacts" etc.

I don't think there are any published APIs for accessing this data from your own code 😔
