Order of Groups on Fiori Launchpad

Hi ,

I have a requirement Where i have 5 Roles assigned to a userid and Every Role contains Multiple Groups .

We need to control the Order of Groups.

we tried one Method where in PFCG , Menu Options we can add sorting index,

But it didnt worked for us as its working for Single role only.

Hi Swati,

You need to do create a "single" PFCG role *per* Tile Group and set the PFCG Menu Sort Index for each role.

If you do this it will control the order of your tile groups on the HomePage - I have used this approach myself on project.

Generally what I would recommend is to create in the Fiori Frontend Server a PFCG "Composite" role that represents the Business Role and contains:

* A single role per Tile Group (with the sort index set) for each Tile Group that should appear on the HomePage of that busines role

* A single role with all the Tile Catalogs assigned to that business role - granting authorizations to all the apps (tiles, target mappings) and OData Service for the business role. This includes everything that appears in the HomePage and the AppFinder

* A common single role with all the usual common Launchpad authorizations

Hello Jocelyn,

I am designing a Launchpad and I am creating one role per Tile Group. My query is, suppose I am creating 1 Tile Group with Tiles 'Create Order', 'Edit Order' and 'Display Order'. I need to assign this to User A and User B. However, I need User A to see all 3 tiles while I need User B to see only 'Display Order'. Any ways I can control this ?

Please don't piggyback on answered questions .... it's very confusing for everyone! Better to create your own question and reference the old one.

What works in one release may be different in another. Please post a new question and include your SAP S/4HANA Release and SAPUI5 level.

You can have multiple groups inside a PFCG Role as well and still have them sorted in a particular order. The order Groups appears in FLP is the same as that in the PFCG Role. Use the Up/Down button within the Role to rearrange them.

I have used this approach many time and it works 🙂 - but - I have to edit FIORI group first - and check that "Enable users to personalize their group".

Thereafter full control of sequence within role menu
