Adding Fileds to COPA DataSource

Hi,

I would like to add fields to COPA datasource.

To do this, do I have to at first delete the datasource and then create new datasource? In the Interface on which datasource can be generated, creating and deleting are possible, but changing seems to be impossible.

Kind regards,

Masaaki

Hi Masaaki,

Steps would be:-

1) Add the fields to the operating concern. So that the required field is visible in CE1XXXX table and other concerned tables CE2XXXX, CE3XXXX etc.

2) After you have enhanced the operating concern then you are ready to add it to the CO-PA data source. Since CO-PA is a regenerating application you can't add the field directly to the CO-PA data source. You need to delete the data source and then need to re-create using KEB2 transaction.

3) While re-creating the data source use the same old name so that there won't be any changes in the BW side when you need to assign the data source to info-source. Just replicate the new data source in BW side and map the new field in info-source. If you re-create using a different name then you will be needing extra build efforts to take the data into BW through IS all the way top to IC. I would personally suggest keep the same old data source name as before.

Hope it helps.

Thx,

Hi,

I have a problem regarding COPA datasource. I have deleted and recreated the Datasource with the same name, I add one append field and modify customer exit. I have to transport this datasource to a productive environment (extract structure has changed its name) and cannot close R3 to avoid postings during transport and reinitialization. Also, this new modified datasource has Generic Delta, and the one in Production has Timestamp as Delta.

I know it is possible to convert from Timestamp to Generic Delta directly in Production using TRX KEB0. Is it possible that when I convert datasource from Timestamp to Generic, the Delta is kept and not lost?

Second Part, while transporting the new/modified Datasource I cannot close R3, is every posting during transport kept, so when I run the next Delta to the cube I haven´t lost information?

Hello Fernando,

Did you solve the issue? if yes, how did you go about and handle your delta?

I have deleted and recreated my COPA datasource with the same old Technical name. However the extract structure name has changed and now the Delta is set to 00:00:00.

How did you solve or handle Delta?

Would really really appreciate your help.

Thanks,

Just an appointment.

Transaction is KBE0, not KBE2.

Cheers

Hi Masaaki,

If you are adding the fields from the same "Operating concern" then goto KE24 and edit the dataaource and add your fields. However if you are adding fields outside the "Operating concern" then you need to append the extract structure and populate the fields in user exit using ABAP code.
