MDM Reverse Engineering MDM->BW

Hi Everybody,

I have a BW system with lot of master data but I would like to use now MDM ... it is possible to extract InfoObjects from BW to MDM ( structure and/or Data)?

I am going to appreciate any help

Hey Fedex,

You cannot currently extract the structure of your infoObjects into MDM.

You would have to manually create the repository and the tables and the fields. You can then extract the data from BW into the tables in MDM.

Dear FedeX,

with <b>MDM ABAP API Technology</b> it is possible to extract data to MDM.

Apart from that, I am currently involved in a project which consolidates BI data using MDM. That means creating MDM repositories for Info Objects and loading data into MDM. Then you are able to consolidate the data in MDM using the Data Manager. After that the changes can be reload into BI System.

<b>Everything will be done via ABAP API</b>. <b>No additional</b> XI, files or other manual stuff has to be done.

It will be available with <b>SP05 or earlier</b>.

Hi,

Structural transformation from BW to MDM is not possible currently. Regarding data (once you define your MDM repository), you can utilise standard scenarios like BW -> XI -> MDM using files.
