Receiver Mail Adapter Settings

Hi All,

I am using the receiver mail adapter to send mail.

I would like to know if our XI server is capable of sending mails or do we need a seperate mail server for that.

What do i need to write in the URL.

smtp://XI_server_name

or,

smtp://mail_server_name

or if i write the ip address will it do.

Is there any free email server which i can use to send mail.

Sumit

Hi Sumit,

First check if your SMTP server is running

for doing the same you just check with a mail client like Outlook Express, if you can access to the mail server?

Maybe you need user and password in the Mail Adapter configuration.

and also note the fact that you dont need to apply the port number, if the mail server uses the standard smtp port 25.

please go through this link also...it should help you:
