Hi Experts ,

1) Is it mandatory to install/select web dispatcher along with ASCS installation for the ABAP and JAVA systems

2) What is the role of web dispatcher in solution manager 7.2

3) If its missed during the ASCS installation ..Is it possible to install it separately on the same machine.

I would appreciate all your inputs..

Thanks in advance

Hi Yogesh/Experts,

Thanks for the reply..But still one thing is not clear.

1) Should I have to select it even If I don't use app server servers for both the ABAP and JAVA systems?

The same question in another form.

If I install the ABAP and JAVA servers as standalone system and no plan for app servers ..Should I still select the Web dispatcher along with ASCS instance...If its not selected..Can I affect the solution manager functionality and post steps?

2) one more question..If I install the web dispatcher for JAVA system..Is it sufficient for both the ABAP and JAVA systems

I would appreciate all your inputs

Thanks in advance

If you are not planning any additional app servers you do NOT need web-dispatcher. Web-dispatcher is for load balancing multiple app servers http requests and proxy.

Hello Daniel,

Please find my answers below

1)Is it mandatory to install/select web dispatcher along with ASCS installation for the ABAP and JAVA systems

Webdispatcher is not required if you have one App server only for each.

2) What is the role of web dispatcher in solution manager 7.2

If you have multiple app server you can load balance it through webdispatcher. One more use is if you have publish Fiori apps on internet webdispatcher works as proxy (firewall)

3) If its missed during the ASCS installation ..Is it possible to install it separately on the same machine.

Too complicated. You need to configure all again 😞

Thanks

Yogesh
