SABRIX for VAT

Former Member

Sabrix claims it is the only vendor interfacing with SAP for VAT computation but I don't see how it gets interfaced as the Tax Interface System (TIS) mentions only Sales & Use.

1. Is there another/new entry point with SAP for real-time VAT determination or is TIS used ?

2. Also what are the benefits of using a third-party package over SAP own solutions for VAT (country-versions) ?

3. Is it worth the cost ?

Thx,

Yannick

SAP does not have inbuilt tax system because the taxes widely vary by country and states, counties and cities within a country. It is huge.

If your customers are spread across different geographic locations that have varied tax rates, it is good to buy a tax software.

If you have only a handful of tax rates that you already know (eg. your business is concentrating only in couple of locations), you may use SAP standard account determination procedure.

By the which country are you in?

Hi,

Yes if you see many big companies have implemented Sabrix for their VAT solution.

Benefits.

1. If multiple countries are on the same SAP system, then you cannot keep track of all the changes in the different countries. Sabrix research takes care of that.

2. Every time there is a change in the tax rates in any country, you need to configure and create a new tax code, which is not required when you are using this external tax system.

This is just to mention a few, there are others.
