How to activate a hierarchy via VBA in Analysis for Office 2.3.1

I have a query with not input ready exit variable (type hierarchy) which selects a hierarchy for a drill down characteristic. Hierarchy A or hierarchy B is being selected, depending on the user input for other variables.

If I run this query in the AO workbook first, the correct hierarchy is being activated in the crosstab.

If the user changes the values for the input variables during refresh, the exit determines the correct hierarchy, but the new selected hierarchy is not being activated for the crosstab.

In the list of variables for the query I can see the correctly set hierarchy - but no change for the activated hierarchy in the crosstab.

Now I try to change the hierarchy via VBA after each refresh. But I do not find the correct VBA statement to do so.

Can anybody help me with this issue?

Thank you very much!

Joern

Hi,

Regarding the post and question above is there any new further developments ? Basically I am trying to control the hierarchy showing level, of a dimension, through VBA/Analysis code.

@Joern did you manage to workaround your problem ?

Thank you !
