After upgrading our 3.2 SolMan to 4.0 we have made all the customizing in the IMG along with following note 691303 which is not really for SolMan 4.0 but it does provide some insight. The problem is that everything is documented for SLF1 (old) and not for SLFN (mew) which is the only one supported by SAP. Has anyone been able to get this to work? If so, can you share your steps? Thanks a million!
Hi Jim,
Its simple.
1. go to SPPFCADM
2. select the appliction CRM_ORDER
3. Click Define Action Profile and Actions
4. Select Action Definition for SLFN0001_ADVANCED
5. Select SLFN0001_ADVANCED_MAIL in action defintion.
6. Check the Processing Type.
7. Go Back.
8. Click on Condition Configuration.
9. select Support Desk Message Action Profile Advanced in Scheduling of Actions
10. Check the Settings for E mail to message creator action Defintion.

Hey Raguraman
I dont have the same problem but its kinda related so i thought i should ask you about it over here.
Actually i want to notify the Support Team attached with a message when a new message is created in their domain. My Support Team is determined by the SAP Component selected by the user while creating a Service Desk Message. Is there any way that an email is sent to Email Address of the Support Team when a new message is created for them ?
Regards,
Bilal Nazir
Hello Ragu,
this is not the problem...as we did every thing the note 691303 guides you to do with the exception we used the SLFN instead of SLF1. Even with adding our own conditions which should work we are not getting the auto notification part to work at all. If you go to tab action in the message before saving we do not even get a process showing that this will take place on save. After saving still nothing shows. When using the old method this was not problem for the SLF1 which has never given me any issues. Any ideas still!
Thanks,
Jim
Hi,
What is the action profile you have assigned to the business transaction type? It should be SLFN001_Advanced, if you have created action and conditions in this action profile.
You can do this in the following SPRO menu path.
SPRO --> SAP SOLUTION MANAGER --> Scenario-Specific Settings --> Service Desk --> Define Action Profile --> Assign Action Profile to the Business Transaction Type
That's how it works.

Hi Guys,
can anybody tell if the email notification can be done not in SMART form (PDF) but directly into email as text. my client does not want to open another docuemtn to see the message. is it a possibility? is there way to have a user defined subject in the email sent (not generic 'service transaction w/message' but with message number)?
Thanks a Zillion guys!!!!
Venkat
Hi Guys
1)When I change status from NEW to OPEN to FIXED, then the whole message is set to DISPLay mode and not able to CLOSE the message. Can you please provide any info so that the message can be CLOSED?
2) How do I check the change in severity/due date of message? Client wants a mail to be sent out if change in severity/due date.
Thanks a lot!!!!
Venkat
Hi,
Obviously you can its just a matter of Action Profile definition, in the t-code i mentioned.

Hey Raguraman
Have you done it ? Can you tell me the condition you applied. I mean is it a starting condition or scheduling condition and what condition did you applied ? I am only able to create a condition if certain change is made in the message. Am not able to resolve what i would do to identify a message creation.

Bilal
Hey
Here is the scenario. Upon creation of a new message my Message Processor field remains blank. What is selected is Support Team. Support Team selection is through a rule i created which depends on the SAP Component selected by the user while creating the message. So each new message has a Support Team assigned to it automatically. I have maintained the email address of the Support Team in transaction BP. What i want is that an email be sent to the email address of the Support Team as soon as a user creates a new message.
I ll be glad if you could help me out in this.
Regards
Bilal
