Configuration problem

I know this not big problem but make me incomfortable when i am seeing the error in log.

1) Operating system call gethostbyname failed (error no. 11004).

2) Spool: Invalid Output Device...its default installed with LP01 which i cannot delete.

3) The System's Time Zone Cannot be Determined. Enter it Using STZAC........I already set the time zone +3 but still recording the error in log.

I need your experience here.

Hi Anwe,

For issue number 1 check entries in host file.

1. Make sure that you have entry for the SAP host system. It should be in this format:

IP Address of the system domain of the system.

2. LP01 is the default printer used for background job printing. It helps you in creating a spool request but never actually prints. Don't delete SP01. Create a local printer for front end printing and check.

3. For third problem check OSS note 667169.

For Operating system get hostname failed is due to RFC connection from systems in two different domains.

Check for HTTP or TCP/IP RFC connections used and if target system is in a different domain then the RFC call will generate SM21 errors.
