Edit subject in missed deadline notification - SAP workflow

Hi,

After the deadline of a QM task is reached, a missed deadline email notification is sent. This works so far, but the subject of the email is cut after 50 characters. As a consequence, the last numbers of QM-note will be cut off.

Instead of „C11: Terminüberschreitung: Qualitätsmeldung 464310234521" the user recieves an email with the following subject "C11: Terminüberschreitung: Qualitätsmeldung 464310".

Six characters are missing within the subject to send the full length of a QM-note number.

I am able to adjust the body of the email, but I haven't found a way to change the left text from QM-note number in the mail subject. Is it possible to extend the length or to change the subject description?

Best wishes,

Martin

Hi Martin,

There is a method which sends the email notification from SAP. The method has a parameter for subject which is having character limitation of 50 characters only.

I was facing the same issue where the notification number was cut and the user was not able to manage emails for notification. So, I changed the subject line and put the notification in the beginning of the subject line. Also, I truncate the subject line wherever possible.

Example:

Earlier subject line: "Task TA01 Assigned for Quality Assurance Notification 2000000003"

Updated subject Line: "Noti: 2000000003; Task: TA01 for QA Assigned"

We have also put the system ID (DEV/QUL/PRD) in the message body to identify the system from which the mail is triggered. It is very difficult to identify the email from development and test system if you don't put system ID.

Hi dipeshkumar.bhavsar,

We are also facing same issue regarding quality notification mail subject not displaying fully due to exceeding the character length

can you share the detail how/where you made changes.
