Hello Experts,

Could you please let me know if one you have worked on backdated pricing on schedule agreement/ Contracts?

Scenario:

Day 1 (10.03.2017) : Goods receipt is posted with open quantity against SA.

Day 2 ( 13.03.2017) : Invoice is posted on SA with new Price so that it would be blocked for price.

Day3 (14.03.2017) : Changed the price on contract/schedule agreement with valid start as in the past. New price is reflected on SA automatically.

  • GR’ed date : 10.03.2017.[ It has old price 100 USD]
  • Invoice Date : 13.03.2017 [ it is done with 120 USD ]
  • Price changed date : 14.03.2017 [ It is done with 120 USD from 01.03.2017]
  • Valid start date : 01.03.2017 (In the past).

Do you foresee any impact on pricing scenario with type of price changes.

In another words, price has 2 values for the day 10.03.2017.

Thanks in advance

what are you trying to achieve with such a scenario?

You can change a schedule agreement at any time with any backdated pricing date and whatever price, it will not effect an already posted goods receipt.

Thanks for your reply.

We have a custom tool for supplier to initiate price changes for a given period of validities. This request will be routed for buyer approval. if buyer approves later than valid start, current tool is updating valid start as the day of approval.

Current Business Logic:

If Buyer approves a PCRs once the validity date (requested by supplier) has been passed, our tool is creating pricing condition records so that validity start is day of approval by Buyer

Example:

  • §Supplier proposes price change effective 01/01/17.
  • §Buyer approved 15/01/17.
  • §SAP price validity start 15/01/17

Change in business logic:

Even if buyer approves the request later the validity start date proposed by supplier, Custom tool should be able to create pricing condition records with validity start date proposed by supplier irrespective of date when approval provided.
Example:

  • §Supplier proposes price change effective 01/01/17.
  • §Buyer approved 15/01/17.
  • §SAP price validity start 01/01/17

So that our supplier price change request and prices updates on SA will be in sync.

Since we are changing price on backed dates, we wanted to make sure there should not be impact on pricing.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

My comment about this statement "In another words, price has 2 values for the day 10.03.2017." is you had to challenge the business.

This not a good pricing setup.

Hope helps.
