Hi guru,s.
we use process chains only for full load or delta as well, is it delta requried to trigger with process chauns , plz could you tell me more about how to resolve load failes with process chain.
regards.
hari
Hi Hari,
Generally in process chains 1st we load "Masterdata", after completion of master data we do "change run". After that we load "Transactional data". In both master data and Transactional data we may have full update or delta update depending on the requirement.
Coming to failures in process chains
The process chain may fail with errors in "Master data" or it fails with errors in "transactional data".
Errors in Master data will be
1)Duplicate data records
2)Invalid characteristics
3)update mode R.
4)Lock issues
5)source system not available error
6)Data source replication error etc...will comes under master data.
Errors in Transactional data will be
1)SID error
2)Activation of ODS failure errors
3)Data source replication error
4)Lock issues
5)source system non available error
6)TRFC error etc....will comes under transactional data.
Based on the errors u have solve them ,reload it again and continue the process chain.
regards
kiran.

HI,
Errors in Master data will be
1)Duplicate data records --> Goto Scheduler screen -- proecessing tab -- select only PSA option there u can see 'Ignore Double records' check it
2)Invalid characteristics--> t-code RSKC -- give 'All_Capitals ' , u can search in SDn for more
3)update mode R.
4)Lock issues --> Goto SM12 -- Select that and Unlock it
5)source system not available error --> Check RfC connections , and see whether ur source sys is Active or not..
6)Data source replication error etc...will comes under master data.... This kind of error comes under Source sys connection refer above..
Errors in Transactional data will be
1)SID error --> Goto RSRV --> Repair that Object inconsistancy
2)Activation of ODS failure errors.. There r number of reasons for ODS activation failures.. i have already given u the reasons for ODS failures... check ur mail
3)Data source replication error .. Source sys prob
4)Lock issues -- SM12-- Unlock it
mostly related to data load errors, take a look Siggi's weblog
/people/siegfried.szameitat/blog/2005/07/28/data-load-errors--basic-checks
and how to restart process chain again may also important,
again Siggi's another weblog

Hi,
What is the best transaction code to display process chain without locking them.

Dear Hari,
There is no restriction that "Process Chain" is meant only for full load or delta load. Based on your scenario, it can be used.

Hello Hari,
How r u ?
In Process Chains we could both Full or Delta loads. You have to analyze the error in SM37 and check for dumps in ST22. Mostly it depends on what sort of the error occured.

Hi,
In Process chains we have Full/Delta loads..
There are no particular errors in process chains
for some times chain cant be activated...
for rectifying the errors in load failures..
Whatever error has occurred u need to go to RSMO > Status tab> See the error msg --> below Press Error msg Button --> New small window will come up --> click on Longtext(? mark)
and also goto Details tab--> check error msgs by right clicking
And also check for any Short Dumps in ST22.
SM21 for System Log Entries and also check RFC entries..
goto SM37 in both R/3 and BW --> here u can see the job details whether the job has been scheduled / active / finished / released / cancelled...
Depending on the error msg we need to proceed further to rectify the error
For more errors follow this thread..
