lo extraction

hello ppl,

i have a fair understanding of lo extraction, thanks to Roberto negro.

one thing which confuses me a bit is where do i declare the settings wether it is going to be a delta or init load and where do i give the conditions for the load.say for ex time stamp and things...

also what is the real purpose of rsa7?because,every time i go to rsa7 all i can see is a bunch of datasources with green light and not much options...

can some one guide me please,or any documents to sunaina_bw@yahoo.com is sincerely appreciated.

thanks

sunaina.

Dear Sunaina,

I guess, you are asking for settings that needs to be done on R3 side for Init and Delta.

In R3:

-

1. You need to set Init Load in SBIW - Filling up of setup tables is what is Init Load.

2. For delta, once this INit load is done successfully, you need to select the last column in the LBWE screen which is the Update Method. Select this, where you will be asked for the type of delta like, Direct delta, queued delta etc. select one of these.

This is the setting for Delta Load in the R3 side.

In the BW side, inorder to pull the Init load data, you need to create an Infopackage for Init Load where you will mention the type of load in "update" tab as "Initialization".

Once the delta records are pulled, another new Infpackage needs to be created for delta load.Again in this package you will mention that ype of load method as "delta" in the "update" tab. when you schedule this, it will pull delta records.

FYI: Init load data is pulled from Setup tables(RSA3) and ddelta loads are extracted from delta Queue(RSA7) .

As mentioned above, RSA3 is used to see the Init load data and RSA7 is used to view records from Delta Queue.

Thanks,

Raj

Hi sunaina,

You fix in Schedule of your InfoPackage the scheduling of your DataUpload, daily - weekly - ....

Timestamp is used by the system to determine new or modified data records. If the Extractor is standard you do not need to maintain the time stamp.

Do not be afraid of your question, after two weeks without system it is simple to forget everything.

Ciao.

Riccardo.
