Serial Numbers: Going up from 00001

Hello,

I need a way to create serial numbers for part labels. It would start with 00001 or something similar and increase by 1. I have never found a way to get this done in Crystal Reports V.14.

If there is no way to do it within CR V.14, I'd like to know if there is a SAP plug-in or other application that works with CR V.14 to get it done.

Thank you.

    You can use a variable

    @SerialNo

    whileprintingrecords;

    global numbervar serial:=serial+1;

    Totext(serial, '00000', 0, "")

    Place this in details and it will increment by one for each detail.

    Try the following formula in Details section:

    WhilePrintingRecords;
    numbervar n;
    n:=n+1;
    totext(n,"00000")

    Hi Greg,

    Crystal can't store numbers. I have a Control Table that contains my current number for each part. I have a Store procedure that accepts the part number and iterations. So if I have to create 5 labels at once, it will increment the number in the Control Table by 5.
