Release for Delivery App in S/4Hana 1610 - Can someone shed some light on how it works?

SAP is promoting a new app called Release for Delivery as part of Advanced ATP in 1610.

I've been testing the app with some success but there are cases where I cant figure out how it works.

Here I have a scenario where I have orders for 900pcs but only 850 on stock. I would like to make sure that the order for 500pcs gets delivered first. Both orders have their full quantities confirmed. When I go into the app there is however no way for me to alter the confirmation.

Can someone explain why this happens?

Another thing I noticed that might be related to the Release for Deliver process is in the Availability Overview in the sales order. There is en MRP element called RELFORDEL.

If I check the same material using the same checking rule in CO09 then I dont have this RELFORDEL segment.

Any help regarding the Release for Delivery app is highly appreciated.

    Hello Rickard,

    Some comments below.

Here I have a scenario where I have orders for 900pcs but only 850 on stock. I would like to make sure that the order for 500pcs gets delivered first. Both orders have their full quantities confirmed. When I go into the app there is however no way for me to alter the confirmation.

This could be due to various reasons. Do you have "Complete Delivery" option selected. Did you enable ATP check at storage location / batch level ? Overall there are some hard blocks that does not let you proceed further with editing. You need to wait for the next release to sort out certain limitations.

Another thing I noticed that might be related to the Release for Deliver process is in the Availability Overview in the sales order. There is en MRP element called RELFORDEL.

This could be because, when you display Availability Overview from VA02; system assumes that as a "ATP Simulation" and thus, it blocks all the quantity that had already been worked upon by Release for delivery app meaning "someone is currently blocking the available ATP quantity and thus the new ATP may not get the quantity you requested".

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks & Best Regards,
