CJS-30151 Java process ERROR

Hi,

We are installing XI 7.0 (PI) of Netweaver 2004s, and we aren't able to bring up the java engine. We are getting the following error:

ERROR 2006-08-04 11:26:46

CJS-30151 Java process server0 of instance DN5/DVEBMGS01 [ABAP: ACTIVE, Java: (dispatcher: RUNNING, server0: UNKNOWN)] did not start after 1:30 minutes. Giving up.

ERROR 2006-08-04 11:26:46

FCO-00011 The step startJava with step key |NW_Onehost|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|SAP_Software_Features_Configuration|ind|ind|ind|ind|7|0|NW_Call_Offline_CTC|ind|ind|ind|ind|5|0|startJava was executed with status ERROR .

Someone had suggested to check our memory and virtual memory size. Our memory is 4gb and VM is 12 GB.

This is the error we see in std_server0.out file:

Failed to reserve 1610612736 (0x60000000) bytes before loading DLLs (error 8).

[Thr 4952] MtxInit: -2 0 0

Error occurred during initialization of VM

Has anyone encountered this problem? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

I am having the same problem installing Solution Manager 4.0. I am using VMWare, which caps the physical RAM at 3.5GB (3600MB), but VM can go much higher. Actual RAM usage during install has been as low as 2.99GB, and as high as 4.27GB when it fails (I've retried multiple times, even after rebooting). In most cases, the CPU is pegged at 100% when it fails (CPU then drops to near-zero), except in my most recent case, so I'm not sure where the problem is.

      My Solution:

      OS: Win2003 Std Edition

      DB: Oracle 10g

      SAP: SolMgr 4 SR3

      1. Set VM to 4096.

      2. In Services, make sure Oracle listener starts automatically

      3. Stop the installation and SAP instances.

      4. Restart the server

      5. Check that oracle listener is running

      6. Start SAP from the SAPmmc Console and wait till all processes are green. Java process will take a while to complete. I waited about 4-5 mins for it to turn from yellow to green

      7. Rerun the installation

From the above steps, I managed to resolve this problem.
