Hi SDN

Can we do an delta update from transactional ODS to a standard infocube, as far as i know tODS havent got a change log table meaning there is no delta option for tODS, if there is an option of delta update from tODS to standard infocube please let me know how...

Hi Chris,

Well. A learning for me.

Coming to your problem do not use the export datasource.

Create a datasource based on the active table of the Transactional ODS in RSO2. Now use any of the fields (you would need a time-stamp or cal-day kind of field) for enabling delta.

Now this datasource to update the Cube further.

Datasource is already there and when i tried to change it to set it up for delta like Riccardo suggessted, it came up with the message i told you all before

'DataSource 8DVMIHIST is extracted using functional module RSBX_BIW_GET_ODSDATA'

i am not sure what this does.

Hi Chris,

do not use/change the system created datasource. Create from RSO2 a newone DataSource, Zdatasource, inserting Activa Data Table of the ODS like extractor.

Hi chris,

I think a good solution is to introduce in tODS a date field that is fed with sy-datum of the day of the upload.

Then in RSO2 you can build a Generic DataSource based on tODS table with Generic Delta on this Date field.

i went to RSO2 and tried to change the datasource i am ending up with this message

'DataSource 8DVMIHIST is extracted using functional module RSBX_BIW_GET_ODSDATA'

and in went to datasource maintain export i see recordmode (BW Delta Process: Record Mode) Dinesh.

Hi Chris,

I think the best solution is what I write you before, with the creation of a DataSource on tODS tables with RSO2 and introducind a Date field in the ODS for the Generic Delta.

No. It is not possible as it does not have the 0recordmode object as well as does not have the change log table.

You can however gve it a try and check.
