hi experts,

for the idoc to idoc scenrio (not making use of BPM)

I have 2 business systems in sld which will be referring to the two r/3 systems.

suppose bus_system1 has logical system name as logsys1 for server1

suppose bus_system2 has logical system name as logsys2 for server2

in we20 for server1 and server2 what logical system name is to be included for the partner profile .(is it the XI server name with receiver port leading to the xi server)?

here there are 3 systems participating in the transfer of data and i am a bit confused . Please help.

Regards,

Shrita.

Hi,

Do you mean to say that the logical system name in say bus system1(sld)will be have the same name in we20 of r/3 sender which will have the outbound message and point to the xi server. similarly in the bus system2(sld) there will be a logical system which will have a name same as that in we20 for the receiving r/3 which will be having the inbound messagetype and the process code?

Please respond points will be rewarded generously.

Well,

your logical system names can be different than your business system names.

Also checkout BD84 (creating logical system).

Hi Shitra,

On the service marketplace there is a nice how-to-guide

(http://servie.sap.com/nw-howtoguides => Exchange Infrastructure => How To Sample IDOC Scenarios within XI 3.0) that explains every step you must go thru.

So you could use this how-to-guide as reference.

PS.: The guide "How to configure the IDOC Adapter" (same place) is also worth reading)

Regards

Rolf

Hi,

1. Go to server1.

Go to SALE and define all the three logical systems there, assign the own logical system to corresponding clients.(it should be rapeated for raminig systems also).

2.Create RFC destination for XI in server1.

3. go to we20, there use this RFC address(From server1 point of view y'r destination is XI only).

Thanks,

for that i specify a logical system (logsys1)name in sapr/3 system 1 which will be pointing to the xi server with outbound message type.In xi server do i need to create a logical system by the name logsys1 which will be receiving the idoc (inbound)and another logical system name(logsys2)which will be sending the idoc outbound to the second r/3 system?

if yes then are where is the logical system name in the sld logical systems being used.

Hi,

you need to create two business systems in SLD and while creating those business systems you need logical system names already created.

Plus if it is IDOC<->IDOC and both the IDOCs are same you dont need to do anything in IR just configure it in ID and you will be good to go.

This will help

Hi Shrita,

Try look at it as the XI system is invisible to the two r/3 systems, or how would you do if no XI system was present, transmitting IDOC's from one r/3 system to another.

The only change when XI is involved, is that the technical connection (SM59) now is pointing from the r/3 system to XI and not to the other r/3 system.

All other settings in r/3 remains unchanged.

Hope this helps understand it..

Regards

Rolf
