SAP CRM Implementation Process

Hi Guy's,

I am kind of new to SAP CRM... I am in the process of finding as much information as possible regarding SAP CRM. I have a general question (show below) regarding CRM Implementation... I am hoping to get an answer from you....

Q: If any Company chooses to implement SAP CRM in 2 or more phases.... then which functionalities (Ex: in Marketing, Sales and CIC) the company would implement in the 1st phase and what are the other functionalities he would like to implement in the next phases?

Let me know if the question is not clear enough....

I really appreciate, if you could explain in detail.....

Thanks in advance...

Sreen

Hi Sreen,

One additional comment: you may be aware that CRM Analytics implies implementing BW, if not already in place. If not in place, I would certainly not include this in your proposal for a first phase.

Kind regards,

Hi Sreen,

Some assumptions are made for this answer. I assume that cyour question is a company for which sales processes are relevant.

I would suggest starting your implementation with CRM Sales and Interaction Center. Decide at this moment whether you would like to implement IC WebClient or WinClient, or both. IC WebClient may be a good choice when your client has a mobile sales force.

In the next phase I would suggest CRM Marketing and, if applicable, Internet Sales and Mobile Sales.

If you are thinking about integrating the CRM solution in an (existing?) enterprise portal, I would include this in your plan as soon as possible.

Hope this helps a bit.

Kind regards,

KZ

Hi KZ,

Thank you very much for your reply....

You have mentioned about different applications of CRM in different implementation phases..... But I am looking for different functionalities of application in Marketing, Sales and CIC (Web/Win Client)....

Let me make it clear.... Suppose a company would like to implement Sales, IC WebClient and Marketing.... Would they implement whole application (EX: Sales and IC WebClient) in a single phase or Can they implement in 2 or more phases.... If they can, then what are the functionalities (in Sales and IC WebClient) they would implement in 1st phase and what or the other functionalities in next phases....

Let me know if it not clear enough....

Thanks

Hi Sreen,

In the case of Sales / ICWC you could start with basic order entry. This would be phase 1.

In phase 2 you could add extended fact sheet, sales contracts, case management, and scripting functionalities. If you decide to include Marketing, then this phase could for example include free goods.

Phase 3 would consist of extended marketing functionality: full segmentation of BPs according to multiple marketing attributes; marketing calendar/plan and campaigns.

Phase 1 alternative: Leave ICWC for phase 2 and only implement basic sales functionality in phase 1. In that case you would do order entry via CRMD_ORDER and not via ICWC. Phase 2 would then included (basic) ICWC functionality.

Of course the demands and requirements of your customer would be leading in deciding the phasing of your project.

Kind regards,

KZ
