Update SAP Kernel 7.21 (OS400/iseries)

Hello,

I need to perform an update of SAP Kernel 7.21 from the patch level 402 to 810 in OS400 (IBM iseries platform). I already done this type of activity in all others platforms, such as Windows server, Linux, Unix, but never in OS400/iseries

This is a SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 and the version of OS400 is the version V7R1.

Can you help me please? Can you guide me, detail each/every step that I need to do!?

The problem has been solved and I already performed the update the kernel!

During this activity I used the following blog:

I had only one error/problem when I did a simulate (using the *TEST mode):

APYSIDKRN: Some mandatory patches are missing – check joblog or log and apply them too

To correct this issue I followed the SAP note 2172659 (IBM i: APYSIDKRN: Some mandatory patches are missing … with SAPHOSTAGENT 7.21)

SAP Note 1713986 explains how to install a kernel in release 7.21. Check out the platform-specific information for IBM i. An overview for kernels on IBM i is given in SAP Note 1097751. You will notice that the installation is done with a tool named APYSIDKRN. For a detailed description of the tool APYSIDKRN, please refer to SAP Note 1632755.
