Hi everybody,

Can we repartition the cube which is already partitioned?

Tell me the process how to do that.

Hi,

You need to delete the data before u repartition the cube . After Data Deletion u can proceed as u did before .

3.5 or lower, cubes must be empty to partition/repartition. With 2004s, you are supposed to be able to repartition a cube, but we're not at that release yet so I haven't tried it.

There are several good threads on partitioning that discuss apporaches and changes, so you might want ot try searching the BI forums on partitioning.

Hi Shaik,

Commonly you need to delete the cube data before you can change the partitions. But also please see note # 895539: Appending/extending partitions to an E fact table.
