Data Archiving

As we all know that the data that is frequently used in not archived. How do we know the data tables that are frequently used before we use archiving.

    Usually archiving is not based on tables in SAP Applications but based on archiving objects that relate to business transaction data and master data.

    You usually archive master data that you have flagged for deletion. For transactional data it is usually based on date and on business conditions like the order being closed and cleared etc. The online help ( each mySAP application usually gives you information for each archiving object.

    For technical SAP NetWeaver capabilities like BI, you can define your own archiving objects for your custom developments and then it is up to you (i.e. archive based on time or based on data selection).
