KM Search - allow index selection but not folder selection

Hi there

Using EP6SP14

Need some help with my TREX search box....

I have several indexes created for different areas of my portal. I want users to be able to choose which index to search in.

I know I can control this in my search options set, by enabling "Enable Search Scope Selection". However when I enable this, the folder selection box also appears in the advanced search.

Is it possible for just the index selection area and not folder selection?

Thanks for your help!

Chris

    Hi Christopher,

You can create a new search option and then add it in km search iview.

    How about if you do:

    Enable Search Scope Selection: NO

and use one of them options:

Search Index IDs: index created by you

Comma-separated list of search index IDs to be used by default for a search.

    or

Index Groups: when you create an index you assign a group, use this option if you have grouped it.

Comma-separated list of index groups to be used by default for a search.

In this way, the end user can choose groups o list of index that want to use.

    Hi

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, neither option works.

Both allow the correct index to be searched, but neither allows the user to select the index from a list of available indexes. No list is displayed.
