Changing CO-PA Extractor

We need to add some value fields to our CO-PA extractor, which has been running in production for a few years, since these are now required in BW.

Section 3.1 of the 'How to... CO-PA Extraction' paper issued by SAP suggests that CO-PA dataSources cannot be enhanced using standard SAP BW tools. You cannot simply edit the dataSource but need to delete it then create it again, alternatively we could amend the user exit.

Has anybody changed the CO-PA extractor recently? Is there an easier way?

We are using BW version 3.5.

Feedback will be appreciated asap.

    Hi,

we faced this problem 2 times in the last 12 month and always did a deletion and recreation, the last time we decided to include all existing value fields into the extractor.

    Hi Manfred

    Thanks for the quick response.

If we do need to delete then recreate the extractor can we use the same dataSource and infoSource name? We are concerned about the impact on the existing deltas. Did you have any problems in this area?
