Information Broad casting....how to call it

Hi gurus,

i am trying to practice Information Broadcasting

but as i have read in help.sap.com..that we can call IB from different locations...

from BEx Analyzer....click on the tools there we will get publish option..

but when i click on the tools i am only getting open query in web browser...option only...

then where to find information broadcasting option.

Hi Neel,

are you in release => 3.5 ? because in previous release you do not have IB.

Hi Riccardo,

how do i check my version, i used this path...

went to system>stauts>clicked on the component which is having netweaver 04 and i got a small window...in which against the SAP_BW i got values for realease 350 and support has 0010

does this mean i am in 3.5 with support package 10

am i right

Hi,

You can call the BEx Broadcaster from the following areas of the Business Explorer:

BEx Query Designer

In the Query Designer Toolbar, choose Publish -> BEx Broadcaster. You get to the BEx Broadcaster. Here you see a list of available broadcast settings for the query that you have edited in the Query Designer.

BEx Web Application Designer

In the Web Application Designer Toolbar, choose Publish -> BEx Broadcaster. You get to the BEx Broadcaster. Here you see a list of available broadcast settings for the Web application that you have edited in the Web Application Designer.

BEx Analyzer

In the BEx Toolbar in the BEx Analyzer, choose Tools -> Distribute Workbook. You get to the BEx Broadcaster. Here you see a list of available broadcast settings for the workbook that you have edited in the BEx Analyzer.

The Tools-> Distribute Workbook option is only visible if you have opened a workbook. If you opened a query only in the BEx Analyzer, this distribute option is not available.

what is the difference between

Bex Query Designer--- Bex Analyzer

i am sorry to ask such a basic and silly question

becoz when i opened my work book i got the distribute workbook option.

if i am not wrong...is bex query designer

when we click on the change query globally option we get into a designer...is that bex query designer.

In the BEx Analyzer, you can analyze and plan with selected InfoProvider data by navigating within queries created in the BEx Query Designer. You can also design the interface for your queries by embedding design items (controls) into your Excel workbook, thus turning the workbook into a query application.

You can use all queries that you define in the BEx Query Designer for OLAP reporting, and also for flat reporting.
