Question regarding the statistics.

Hai,

I see the load DB statistics step in all the process chains in the place I work. Once the Cubes are loaded, we run Statistics on them. Can you please explain me why this is meant for and how it is useful?

Regards,

VP.

    Hi,

DB STATISTICS are different from BW STATISTICS. There is no relation between them. DB Statistics pertaining to infocube database.

Using BW statistics, you can load statistical content and use these content to improve performance. there are many reports in the statistics through which you can improve your loading performance and query performance and so on..

When you check BW statistics ON for Cube these tables related to technical content start collecting statistics information. Statistical data collected in these tables help to make decissions to improve performance..

0BWTC_C04 BW Statistics – Aggregates – Used for Aggregates

0BWTC_C02 BW Statistics – OLAP Used for reporting performance

0BWTC_C05 BW Statistics – WHM – Used for Cube performance

Refer this How-To doc on BW Ststistics:
