All,
I'm looking for some help with regard to precalcuating a long running query. We're running BW3.1, so I know that there is the Reporting Agent, as well as Tcode rscrm_bapi.
However, in looking at the reporting agent and trying to use it, I do not see how this benefits me. It appears that this is more useful for webtemplates or printing reports, not necessarily for precalculating a query without any exceptions, web templates, print requirements, etc. Additionally, we are not currently using web templates/web reporting. Correct me if I'm wrong on my perception.
In addition, I'm running into some authorization errors with rscrm_bapi
applied note 526173
but still having authorization error, which I'm thinking deals with writing out to the application server directory.
What I'm trying to achieve is to schedule a BEx query to run in the background so that when a user comes in to run the query based on the same parameters, their response time is significantly reduced due to the fact that it has already run. Query run time is approximately 30 minutes per plant execution and it's run 9 different times. Report is down to detailed-level
material
due to requirements from cost accounting, and aggregates already exist on infocube, but are not being hit due to granularity of data.
I've spent considerable amount of time reading various postings on said subject but have not had any luck. Any information one can provide is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Regards,
Norris
