Hi Guys! I'm trying to connect BI with EP.. I've defined the system in EP, and when I'm creating the BI iView, it asks for a BEx parameter for the BI report.. would anyone know where this is found?
Regards,
Glenn

Michael,
Thank you very much for your answers
I have still problem with this ivew.I am following sap help and using this infocube= <INFOCUBE>&query=<QUERY> as a parameter.
I have no problem with backend connection and WAS also when i try to use url iview it is asking me user name and password then entering
user and password i am able too see the report through internet explorer.I am using Business Explorer and getting query from BW and launch in browser and then with this way i am getting url of the query then i am getting needeed query parameters.Everything seems ok but I think i am missing something.
by the way I am using Enterprise Portal 7.0 with BI 7.0 and When I watch http traffic it am getting something like below,
irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fVista!2fBex?sap-config-mode=true00:00:00.497 0.019 4172 GET 407 text/html
irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher?sap-bw-iViewID=pcd%3Aportal_content%2FVista%2FBex&sap-ext-sid=CmAxf%2BnugzM%2B%2Fw9yX2uWAA%3D%3DZXvZRsVVWi3OtA5aBio9NQ%3D%3D
Thanks in Advance,

Hi Michael ,
1) As you told me i changed iview version parameter from BI 7.0 to SAP BW 2.x/3.x" and then when i try to preview it asked me user name and password then it worked but the page layout was like without css file.it did not seem me so good.
>Is it asking me username and password because of using user mapping and choosing uidpwdlogon as authentication scheme? If I use logon ticket It will not ask me a username and password? Am I right ?
2) I have a defined system for BW which contains also Was settings in it and system alias like SAP_BW and using this parameter in the properties of the bex iview. When I use test connection was passed test successfully.I am using usermapping not logon tickets and I am trying all these with super_admin role.
3) I created a url iview using query's url when i try to capture or browser it saying to me unable to fetch...url...and getting http #401 error.I think this should be authentication problem.
4) BW and Entrprise Portal run on the same server EP is using port 50000 and WAS is using 8000.
For the time thats all coming to my mind.Could you pleae share with me What you think about this ?
Thanks and Best Regards,
#Bill J.
Changing the setting to BW 2.x/3.x indicates there might be a problem with the Java side of the BI install. I think you need to talk to your BI experts about that.
Yes, if the setting is logon ticket, then assuming the SSO has been setup correct, you shouldn't be prompted for username and password.
Don't try to use capture mode with URL iVews and BEx queries. The syntax isn't understood very well..
The different port numbers are because the EP/BI is running on Java while the WAS (ABAP) uses the ICM (port 8000). If it's a dual stack install, then this isn't a problem - the ICM will redirect 8000 to 50000. If the EP/BI is a standalone Java, then you need to tell EP this.
Cheers
Hi Michael,
Thank you very much for your valuable answers for me.
I will try to find a OSS notes regarding to this issue.Java side of BI install can be managed by BASIS guy?
1)Could you please make it more clear for me what you mean with Java side of BI install
2)"If the EP/BI is a standalone Java, then you need to tell EP this." Also Could you please give more detail on this ?
Thanks in Advance,
#Bill J.
Bi 7 (not its official name!) has an ABAP side, where the infocubes etc are stored and a Java side, which provides the Web side of things. The two bits can be installed on the same SID or the ABAP and Java can be installed on two SIDs.
The BI Java side also includes EP.
If you have two SIDs, then they need to know about each other for publishing etc. There is an area in the IMG which assists in setting this up - normally a Basis activity as it involves RFCs etc
You may want to ask more in the BI forums.
Cheers
Hi Glenn,
open ur BEx analyzer tool...open "queries" then goto " infoarea"...there u ll get all the queries existing in BW. Click on any query and see the properties for that query...it will show " infoprovider" and "query" name for that query....
u enter these values in format
infocube=...&query=...
u enter this value for "BEx Web Application Query String" parameter of iview.
regards
Amit
