SAP MII User session

Hi,

I'm facing issues with a user session that seems to break after a while. We have a pc that has a web page. This web page makes Ajax calls to MII transactions. Because the pc is sometimes not used for a long amount of time (e.g. during the weekend), the user session is lost. I tried the following:

- Automatically reload the page after 5 minutes of inactivity.
- Make an Ajax call every 2 minutes.
- Increase the MII system property 'Session Timeout'
- Increase the XMII Web Module property 'Session Timeout'

Note: I can see that the expiration time for the user is increased every time the web page makes an Ajax call. We do not make use of more than 1 server node.

I read something about increasing the SessionExpirationPeriod property but I wonder whether this would put too much load on the server and too many sessions will remain open when users do not log off properly?

I don't know the exact config setting but there is a setting at the Netweaver level for the max time a session can connect before it kicks you off no matter what and makes you log in again.
