Info needed regarding SLD Importance

Hi,

I am new to SAP.

I have installed NWDS.I want to add functions to an existing Business Objects in CRM 5.0. I have gone through few links and came to know SLD needs to be configured. I have some doubts here.

1) First of all, Why do we need to configure SLD and how is this connected to import business objects into NWDS.

2) What is the process to be followed to enhance Business objects.

Please give the needed pointers.

Hi,

SLD is used a central management system for system landscape data by many netweaver components.

Before you start a software development in the java development infrastructure, you must define the software to be deployed in SLD. The purpose is to register information on software products, such as version number and support packages in the SLD.

If these products are deployed later in the system landscape, not only does the SLD contain information on the systems in which the software is installed, but also information on the software itself.

Moreover, to execute your application developed in netweaver, basically you need to configure the SLD first.
