Hi everyone,

I've just installed SAP SneakPreview and I`m deplotying my first web DynPro App. While doing this it pops up with a dialog box asking for a SDM password. I gave the SDM password( previously I had a problem with the pwd but fixed it) and after that I got the following error message:

1-jul-2006 16:29:32 /userOut/deploy (com.sap.ide.eclipse.sdm.threading.DeployThreadManager) [Thread[Deploy Thread,5,main]] ERROR:

Inner exception was :

I don't know how to fix this. Anybody can help me, please?

Thanks and best regards,

Gino

You may have to fix your NWDS. I had the same problem after upgrading to SP15. I was instructed to perform the actions under NWDS in SAP note 941150. After that, it was fixed.

Hi Rich

I have the SP16. Do I really have to upgrade to SP17?

I dont think that is the problem

I installed the SAP Web Application Server Java 6.40(J2EE Engine) in another machine and got the same problem with the "RemoteGui.bat".

I am asked for a password, and as assumed I typed "dsm"

but I still got the followin error mesaage:

ERROR: Could not establish connection to server labora02 at port 50018: Connection refused: connect

Can anybody help me with that?

Thanks and Regards

Gino.

PD: I can run SDM by console but when I deploy my app int the NW IDE I am still asked for the pwd.

The password will be the same as the j2ee admin password that you specified during installation. You only have to enter the password one time per NWDS session. You don't have to upgrate to SP17, but if you are having the same problem that I had, you do have to "fix" the SDM part of NWDS as instructed in the note that I provided eariler. First make sure that the password that you are providing is correct, if so, then try the instructions under NWDS in the note. This fixed the problem for me in SP15.

Hi Gino,

Tell me two question answer:

1. Are able to open and deploy through SDM ?.

2. Are you abe open Visual Admin if your not able to login with username(admin) and password. Problem with

NWD2004s do the following steps.

C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\configtool->configtool.bat->open it

1. Click on Secure store

2. Right you will find :

admin/password/J2E->retype your admin passowrd which you gave during installation.

Restart the server and deploy it...

Regardless of what version you are on, you need to fix the SDM API which is inside the NWDS. You need to following the instuctions below. You need to download the SDMapi.zip file from note 941150

<b>SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio:</b>

1. Download and extract the SDMapi.zip file attached to the note.

It contains two files - SDMClient.jar and sap.com~tc~SL~sdmclient~impl.jar.

2. Stop the NWDS.

3. Find all the matches of SDMClient.jar in the IDE directory,

back up and replace them with the SDMClient.jar from the attachment.

4. Find all the matches of sap.com~tc~SL~sdmclient~impl.jar in the IDE directory, back up and replace them with sap.com~tc~SL~sdmclient~impl.jar from the attachment.

5. Start the IDE and perform deploy.

Note: Usually, these jar-s (SDMClient.jar and sap.com~tc~SL~sdmclient~impl.jar) can be found in the <ecipse_home>eclipsepluginscom.sap.sdm.apilib directory.

I followed all the steps

in the last step I did'nt have the sap.comtcSLsdmclientimpl.jar file, so I pasted a new one in the root you mentioned.

I started the IDE and performed the deployment and still got the error mesasage:

Have you also read Note 783965?

hmmm its German...

Its says, that the IDE and the J2EE Instances are in different domains.

It suggests, that you made an entry in your system32/drivers/etc/hosts file where you specify your J2EE Instance (Portal-machine)

Maybe this helps, it solved my deployment problem

Hello everybody.

I finally fixed the deployment error. I received help from lots of people whom I thank you all.

After the installation you first start the J2EE Engine (you have to wait several minutes for all the services to be started), then If you want to deploy your application on the Developer Studio you will be asked for a password. I tried with "sdm" without success. So following one message posted, you first have to open de command line and got to the sdm root:

1.

cd C:/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/SDM/program

in my case is : C:\usr\sap\J2E \JC00\SDM\program

2. Then start sdm in standalone mode:

sdm jstartup "mode=standalone"

"sdmhome=C:/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/SDM/program"

3. Change the password of the SDM

sdm changepassword

"sdmhome=C:/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/SDM/program" "newpassword=<new password>"

4. After that restart the sdm but in integrated mode

sdm jstartup "mode=integrated"

"sdmhome=C:/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/SDM/program"

Now that you have the new password you can deploy your application, but if you still have another error message of Administrator rights (java.rmi.RemoteException: Only Administrators have the right to perform this operation...)

Then you have to go to the Administration console:

http://localhost:50000/useradmin

The deafult user and password is:

user: Administrator

password: abcd1234

There you go to groups -> "FIND" -> Choose Administrators -> Add Users -> Expand the "+" button -> press "FIND" button -> choose "Admin, Portal" -> click the "ADD" button

That way you will have the Administrator rights. I hope that helps everybody. It helped me. Thank you all
