How to count number of objects using BO Cloud and HCP Calculation view

It seems a simple question, can we count number of objects in BO Cloud.

We have in HCP a calculation view, which shows a list of assignments, by different dimensions like status, region etc. The assignment holds the number of hours and the total cost as measures per assignment.

(Please ignore in above the first row = count) as this is already the work around.

We connect this calculation view to BOC and create a model. If we do not use the workaround we would not have the first row "count".

But so far we did not find a way to count the number of assignments fulfilling specific conditions. So we cannot create a simple report like: Show we the count of all assignments with status = escalated.

Is there an option to achieve this in BOC? So far we only found a workaround to add a measure count to the calculation view, where we have a fixed value of 1 per assignment. If we pass this to BOC the count can be aggregated. But I do want to avoid this work around.

you can create a measure and use Exception Aggregation to create a count per the following screenshot.
