SAP Lumira decimal places

Good morning everyone

I recently came across a strange behaviour regarding SAP Lumira 1.31 BI Platform Add-On and I wasn't able to find out a solution. My problem is quite similar to the one already raised in this post:

https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3934506

I created with Lumira Desktop a visualization with a simple cross-table with Revenue per Year and Store (for testing purposes I used eFashion.unx). Then, in the COMPOSE room, I just copied the cross-table to a blank page. I saved the document both locally on my pc and also on the BI Platform.

Then I logged in the BI Platform (with IE 11) to view the document. Everything seemed to work fine but then I tried to manually refresh the report and after the refresh I saw that all the decimal values were rounded to zero.

For instance:

1,234.66 ==> 1,234.00

1,234.32 ==> 1,234.00

1,234.58 ==> 1,234.00

And so on. I tried to do some research about this in the master KBA (https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2308200/E) but with no luck.

Same behaviour if the document is scheduled.

The strange thing is that, if opened and/or refreshed with the Desktop application, the document behave correctly showing the right decimal values.

Am I missing something?

I really appreciate any suggestion about this problem.

Thanks everyone!!

Best Regards.

Hi Ludek,

After installing the KBs it still didn't worked but a quick restart of the server apparently solved the problem.

I shall keep monitoring the situation for a while, just to be sure.

Thanks very much for your suggestions.

Good morning Ludek,

thank you for your answer.

We have also opened a support ticket for that and the answer was to upgrade to Lumira 1.31.4. Following this SAP Note we proceeded:

https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2440572/E

The upgrade went just fine in the Test Environment: decimals were displayed correctly after manual refresh. Today we just upgraded the Production system following the same steps but the problem is still present.

I agree with you: it might be some kind of server setting but we don't know where to look. Language and time zone are the same both in the server configuration and in the BI Platform, datasource is the same for the Lumira documents (unx based on a hana view); also the user in the connection parameters is the same.

We have take a snapshot of the environment and set Windows Update to run on the server. Maybe we missed something while installing Visual C++ components.

I will keep this post updated in case we find out something. But I'm more than willing to hear any kind of suggestion about this problem.

Thanks again for your reply.

I wonder if this is a server side setting?

Reason this looked fine on open is that the document was using saved data. Refresh discarded that data and consumed new data formatted as per the server settings(?).
