Dear Experts,

The requirement I have is to integrate .NET application to SAP ECC using PI as middleware.

The data comes from .net application to PI and from PI to SAP ,decided to use SOAP as sender and RFC as reciever .and it is a asynchronous.

SOAP->PI->RFC

. My Question is

1).net application is not in our landscape,whether i need to request for a firewall break to have a connectivity between PI and thirdparty.

2) Third party has designed the webservice,and they intend PI to consume their webservice,can we have this option ,in this case how it can be achieved or do I need to use a different sender Adapter.

Please suggest.

Regards,

Kalpana

Hi Kalpana,

Ad.1) As I understand this .Net application is outside your network so please talk with your network/security team to make sure that your PI has an access to the Internet (proxy, DMZ, etc.).

Ad. 2) I'm not sure I understand your scenario. Do you have to send data into both directions? If you want to use this Web Service to send data from SAP to .Net app, then you can use the following approach. You can take a WSDL file of this .Net Web Service and use it as an external definition in your Repository. As I understand this Web Service use a SOAP protocol, so you will use a SOAP adapter as a receiver one. As a sender adapter (you are at the SAP side) you can use a RFC adapter or you can decide to use ABAP proxy objects (it's up to you).

But if you want to use an external Web Service to put data into SAP system, then you can use a synchronous scenario.

Regards,

Andrzej
