Regarding Unit Fields in Enhancement.

Hi All,

I have a small doubt regarding enhancing a filed qty. This field has units (EA, Roll mtr etc). I have enhanced the field and extracted the data. Now how to extract correct units corresponding to that qty field.

Should I add one more field in the extract structure?

Please provide information in this regard..

Hi dear,

if you add a qty field on your extract structure, system certainly will ask to you to insert a related UoM field, otherwise it's not possible to save the append !

Then, it's up to you HOW you can fill this field...this depends from your business scenario (usually you can take UoM from the same table in which you re taking the main field!)

Hi Roberto,

It didnt ask me to add the reference unit. Strange. Anyway, Even now I can append one more field to accomadate 0unit and fill it with data from the same table.

Is it the correct process???

Hello JaYanth,

How r u ?

In the CURRENCY / Quantity fields u have to enter ur Quantity field and enter the reference field & table for that which is in the same table.

Eg. If u have Ztble and the unit field as Zitems u should have another field zunit with the data type QUAN. you could give the entries like this

Field RefTble Ref Field 
Ztble ztble   zunit

I have done it at the r/3 end. what abt at the BW end. How to extract that data into BW??

Should i map that field

I will give you complete details:

I have added the field ZZMBGBTR from COEP table and then added in the Currency/Unit field for it. Reference Field I gave is MEINH from COSP table...

as already written in my previous post, the only thing to avoid is to out an external reference table into an extract structure: this is not possible !

The reference table must to be the same structure...

Yes Roberto, even i said the same "ztble" & the reference table is also the same table with zunit field.

just to confirm. I am providing the provcedure that I am following.

I added ZZMBGBTR in 'Components', 'Component Type' is MBGXXX. I gave Data Type and other Details. Next I added Zunit and give Component Type as MEINH.

Next in 'Currency/Quantity Fields' , Component is ZZMBGBTR, Component Type is MBGXXX, Reference Table is My Extract Structure Name and Ref. Field is Zunit.

When I do this, I am getting error.

My doubt is in Components should I have to add Zunit and also for Reference Table whether I should give Extract Structure or Append Structure???

I checked the Table, u need not refer another table as Nergo said. I think u r confused there.

MEINB & MEINH fields are the reference fields in COEP table, in the same structure.

Could u tell me what is the Data Type u mentioned for the "ZZMBGBTR" field ?

don't Confuse....just follow these steps..

Reference Table: SAP Table or Source of append fields.

1. ADD the ZZQTY filed to the ES(assume while writing the code ZZQTY will be filled from table XYZ),

Component Component type

ZZQTY qty(component type Qty field in XYZ table)

in the currecy and quantity tab...reference table XYZ and Field is reference field of Quntity in table XYZ(check in Table XYZ currency and Quntity tab).

add the currency field after that.

reference table: Extract Structure.

otherwise... <b>(add the unit field before Quantity field).</b>

add the Unit field first....save and activate it....

then add the Quntity field give the reference table Extract structure and field unit field.
