HANA 2.0 Express Edition, JDBC connection refused

I installed HANA 2.0 EE using binary installation method.

Installation completed without error. I can login HANA LM using SYSTEM user (default database user), and I installed delivery units without error. HANA system seems working fine.

However, I couldn't access from HANA Studio, error says "JDBC connection refused".

Instance no I used is "00". Below linux command on installed machine produce same error.

java -jar ngdbc.jar -n <hostname>:30015 -u <username>,<password>

Java runtime environment : oracle 1.8.0_121

I found hdbindexserver is not running.

I am not sure why... after manual starting hdbindexserver, JDBC connection works fine.

    Hello Andy,

Yes, the indexserver needs to be up for the connection to work from studio. You can check the log in the indexserver's trace which can be read on the OS level or from the studio

    Thanks,

    Atul
