Hi Experts,

If i create a report in BPC Embedded on EPM add-in(not Analysis for office) then EPM formula will run on HANA or not ?

As i am seeing when we create report on EPM add-in in Embedded. Its performance not good as with Analysis for office.

Any advice.

Sumit Bhatti

What do you mean by "EPM formula"?

I mean EPMContextMember, EPMSelectMember etc.

Sorry, but EPMContextMember, EPMSelectMember are not affecting report performance 🙂

The mentioned formulas will request data from embedded dimensions masterdata stored on HANA.

What is the issue?

When i am initially opening the workbook(EPM based) it is taking lot of time.

We are using 7 queries in the workbook as you can see in attached screenshot.

My question is below -

is EPM takes those as EPM Model and trying to establish connection each of them ?

Sumit

Sorry, but it depends on your report design...

It's not possible to explain why your report is slow without detailed analysis of the report...

Vadim,

In my EPM report, some planning sequence are used. but one of planning function is not run on HANA.

In SE38 i used program RSPLS_PLANNING_ON_HDB_ANALYSIS to check planning sequence work on HANA or not.

Below attached R2 Merit Increase not run on HANA.

Attached is the screenshot.

Sumit
