I am not an "expert" on your topic: but this is the story:
1.) in ECC (SAP ERP) delivery is stored as part of table LIKP, Assigned to this table you will find other tables which refelct the "status" of delivery (GR done etc.)
2.) According to my understanding: in SAP ECC you create the "delivery". This delivery is "replicated" (based on proper set up) to SAP EWM. . Now you just go on in SAP EWM. At the end "GR" is done. This information "flows" back to SAP ECC. This is needed to e.g. handle "invoice" topics (as stock topics as well)
