In PowerDesigner 16.6, I simply want to change a one-to-many relationship line from dashed line style to solid line style. After bringing up the symbol format for the line, I change the Style pulldown from Notation to solid line, hit apply/OK, but no change occurs. I checked default settings Display Preferences, Model Options and General Options, but not sure what to change if anything. Are there other default symbol settings? Very frustrating.

I've seen the same behaviour when using the Barker notation. It looks like PD applies custom formatting, and THEN imposes the dashed vs. solid line style, depending on the relationship optionality. I have a custom symbol in an extension, that is meant to change the lines from dashed to solid, but it doesn't.
